Taba Concept Development
This format was developed by Hilda Taba. It revolves around creating an underlying concept and generalization that you want the students to grasp. These can often connect multiple curricula areas and subjects, as well as lessons under one unit. Having a common underlying concept is a great way to build knowledge and reach out to real-world implications!

Strengths of using Taba Concept Development:
Limitations of using the Taba method:
- Allows for students to make connections across disciplines
- Goes beyond content to create application and depth
- Creates 21st century learners
- Lends to creativity and freedom of choice in grouping
- Beneficial for all students through connectivity to other curriculum
- Clear assessment of student's grasp of generalization
- Encourages students to work as a team
Limitations of using the Taba method:
- May be difficult to use in mathematical situations
- Grasping and producing a generalization may provide a challenge for non-gifted students
